Bad things happen to people all the time. So what do you do when it happens to you? Well wallowing in your misery, or having a pity party is NOT what you do. God has a plan for you, and His plan is not about you feeling sorry for yourself. Tragedy's happen and sometimes we don' know why. But God does, He knew the very day He created everything. There is a reason why you are facing a hard time. Though you may not know why now,you will later.
So what do we do until then? Instead of feeling sorry for yourself you should get up and live life. Be thankful for the breathe you just breathed! God just blessed you right now. He gave you this day, don't waste it by thinking of how bad your life is. But, instead think about the blessings God has given you. Be thankful that He died on the cross for your sins, that He gave you this day, that He loves you and wants you to know more about Him.
God loves you and He let this happen to you. We may not know why but there is a reason. So don't go about your days thinking about how terrible your life is. But think about all of the wonderful blessings He has given you. And remember that someday this will make sense, and that there is a reason behind this.

A Man Named Job
There once was a man named Job. He was a very wealthy man, had ten kids and a wife. He was also a godly man. God knew that his heart was right, but Satan didn't. Satan wanted to test Job saying that the only reason why Job was so godly was because he had everything he could have ever needed. God allowed Satan to test Job. That is when everything fell apart. All in ONE day, Job lost all of his wealth and all ten kids. All in ONE single day! Can you believe that! Having everything and then losing it all in one single day, just 24 hours.
So what would you do in this type of situation? Well, Job tore his clothes, which is a sign of morning, and worshiped God! After losing everything, he worshipped God. Knowing that God let this happen, knowing that God could have stopped this from happening. He knew this and he STILL worshiped God. So what does this tell us?
We should be worshiping all the time. In good times and bad times. Because we know that God lets everything happen for a reason. Nothing that has ever happened in this world caught God by surprise. There is a reason for everything.
James 1:2-4 says "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." So what does this verse tell us? We should be thankful when we are in trials. Now why in the world should we be thankful??? Why would God let bad things happen?
God lets bad things happen because He knows that we can come out of this trial. He knows that we will grow closer to Him through this trial. Now sometimes people leave God, and say that He doesn't exist when hard times come. But remember Jesus said, "Whoever follows me, let him carry his cross." Jesus didn't promise us an easy life. He didn't promise that we would never have any more trials. He didn't promise us any of that. But He said to take up your own cross. But when we do go through hard times, we should know that there is a reason. And when we go through a trial God wants us to become closer to Him. So when a hard time comes are you going to, be like a man named Job and draw close to God, or leave Him?

Why???
I have yet to find someone who enjoys going trials. It is not something that people look forward to, but something to avoid instead. So when hard times come there is always the question, "Why did God let this happen?" or "If God is so powerful, then why does bad things happen to me?" Those are very good questions. I used to think the same way. James 1:2-4 says, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."
What this verse is saying is, we should be happy when tragedy happens. Because when something terrible happens we need to grow closer to God. God lets these things happen because He knows we CAN get out of these times of sorrow, and when we do get out we should be closer to God. Example: some people in the summer time stop watering their grass for a little bit. We know that without water your grass will die. But what you might not have known is, that when your grass starts to brown the roots grow deeper in the ground. Which will help the grass in the long run. So I bet if grass could speak it would say, "Water me!!! I need water!!!" But we are thinking, "This does have a purpose and will help you later grass." So there is a reason for everything, even if we do not know it. We are like the grass thinking, "Why is God not watering me? I need water!" While God is thinking, "I do have a reason for not watering you." Lemons Make Lemonade!
Sometimes we don't have a choice. Sometimes things just happen to us, and we can't do anything about it. Nothing at all. We just have to accept it. But sometimes that's not very easy. Sometimes we think, "What if I just did this..." Sometimes we are just born into something, and no matter how far you try to get away from it you just can't. So what do you do? Go crawl in the corner and cry? Nope. Make lemonade!!!! (Not literally) Have you ever heard the saying, "If you have lemons, then make lemonade." Well sometimes we get into a sour situation. And there's nothing we can do to fix it. So what do you do? Accept the fact and move on. Pick up the fallen pieces and go from there. Live each moment like it is your last day. How would you spend your last day? Moping and crying? I sure hope not! I hope it is by enjoying every second of the day, thankful for the breath you just breathed. And if you ever find yourself in a situation that you have experienced in the past, you will know what to do. If someone you loved hurt you, and you find yourself considering the choices they have made, you know the mistakes they made and how to dodge them.
A Friend
I have a friend,
who is going through a time;
a time of pain and sorrow.
But she doesn’t know why.
She feels all alone,
like no one is there.
Sometimes she wonders,
does anybody care?
"Why" she cries,
while talking to God’
"sometimes I feel like I just want to die."
Then a light shines,
from the dark.
God has been with her,
since the very start.
When she was lost and lonely,
when she had pain and despair,
God had listened,
to all of her prayers.
God has a daughter,
who is going through a time.
A time of pain and sorrow,
and she doesn’t know why.
She doesn’t see His miraculous plan,
oh, but she will.
because it is so grand.
But, until then,
here she will stay.
Living each moment,
like it’s her last day.
Then when she finishes her task,
an amazing testimony she will have,
for anyone who ever asks.Written by Jackie Malone
Divorced Parents
My father was in the military. That in itself is a tough thing to accept. My parents never really got along. They would be together, then separated. Then together and separated again. Off and on. When I was in the first grade they separated for good. They were getting divorced.
At first, I didn't really understand what they meant as, "Not getting back together." I moved with my mom and my father left for Iraq, again. I was confused and hurt. For the longest time I thought that my father didn't love me. Of course that was a lie. Things just got worse from there. My mother would move from one place to another. From one boyfriend to another. I was oblivious to all of this. My father would go months without seeing or hearing from me. Finally things got so bad I had to leave my mom. I moved in with my dad.
During this time, my father was not saved. He let me do anything I wanted. My dad started dating again, and I was devastated. I always thought that my parents would get back together. But that wasn't the case. My father met a girl named Jennifer. They dated and are now married. I was so upset and confused. Why would my dad do that? For the longest time I was so depressed and upset. But then one night, Jennifer took me to this play. That same night I was saved. I am very glad to say, my father and stepmother are both Christians, and I have two wonderful step-sisters that I love to death.
Just because I was saved didn't mean that everything went better. There are still times when I lie in my bed and cry. God didn't take all of my pain and sorrows away. But, He made them easier to bear. Knowing that this world is only temporary helps me get through the day. And yes, I will go through hard times again. That's a fact I know. Just because we are saved doesn't mean we will be promised an easier life on Earth, but, that it will be more bearable. Thank God I have wonderful friends that help me and encourage me when I am feeling low. But who I must thank the most is God. For dying on the cross for my sins, and being with me whereever I go. When I am in a storm, He is my Umbrella.
